Separate PDF Pages

If you have an Adobe Acrobat DC Subscription, you can divide it using the built-in PDF split feature. If you don’t want to purchase Acrobat, then you can use other free online tools.

Separate a PDF in Adobe Acrobat DC

  • To separate your single PDF into multiple PDFs, go to the Tools menu, and select the Organize Pages tool. And select Open.

Note: Adobe allows limited tools in the free version. To use the Organize tool, you need to purchase the Adobe Acrobat DC.

  • Click on Select a File.

  • Select your PDF file from the Open dialog box then click Open.

  • Choose a single PDF file that you want to split. Acrobat allows you to split the pages in multiple ways. We can choose any one or we can select the pages individually.

  • Here, I have selected three pages.

  • After selecting the pages which you want to separate, click on Split.

  • Choose Output Options to define the save location, name of the new file, and to decide how to split your file.

  • You can save your original file to the same folder, or you can select a new folder. You can also decide the label of the new files. Now, click, OK.

  • Click Split to finish.

Separate a PDF in online Tools

There are many online tools available to separate a PDF into multiple documents, such as ilovepdf, Split-a-PDF, SodaPDF, FreePDFConvert, PDF2Go, Smallpdf, Sejda, etc.

Here, we will use ilovepdf tool.

  • Go to the given link. You will get the page like below:

  • Click on Select PDF file or drag your PDF file. Browse your file and click on the Open button.

  • Define the range from the Range Mode section.

  • After applying all the customization, click on Split PDF.

  • Now, select Download Split PDF to download your file on your computer.

Separate a PDF in Google Chrome

  • To open the PDF in Google Chrome, go to the location of the PDF and right-click on the PDF.

  • Select Open with menu and choose Google Chrome browser. Your PDF file will open in the chrome.
  • Click on the Print icon from the top right corner of the page.

  • Go to the Pages section and select Custom.

  • Define the range of the pages that you want to split and create as a new document. For example, suppose you have a 9-page PDF that you want to split. The first four pages in one file and last 5 in another. So, enter the range 1-4 to create a PDF file with the first four pages. You can repeat the same process to make the second document and define the range from 5-9 pages.

  • Now, Click Save and define the name and location of the new PDF file.

  • You can repeat the same process to create two or more new PDF files from the original one.
