What is Cloud Console?

The initial place where users collaborate with GCP (Google Cloud Platform) is by their console. The Google Cloud Console can be described as a web-based interface. It enables administrators for managing break down costs, track issues, resources, and many more.

In this particular topic, we will proceed through most of the basics of GCP (Google Cloud Platform) to meet particular requirements.

The console is developed for a particular project, so a change can be made to attach to the project without any duplication. It is beneficial noting the usage of API requests, latest billing costs, and project ID shown over the dashboard.

Various users can include other dashboards or change existing ones by proceeding to the Customize button over the screen’s top right side. A few dashboards that are available but hidden by default include Compute Engine, App Engine, and Google Cloud SQL, which can be broadened to report the Stackdriver metrics. When we wish to view the change history made to a particular project, a complete audit trail is present upon the Activity tab.

Each resource of GCP can be accessed and located inside the navigation menu within the window’s top left side. From here, all the users could browse corresponding tabs and resources to manage and create resources. Based on how an admin of a project requires to access any resource.

Another aspect of Google Cloud Console is Cloud Shell. It is a terminal (in-browse) that includes the pre-installed Google Cloud SDK and enables every user to regulate apps and infrastructure by the command-line. If we launch a cloud shell, GCP inaugurates a lightweight container along with the shell. After that, the GCP will destroy this container after our session. There will be no charge to use Cloud Shell or Cloud Console.

Features of Cloud Console

The Cloud Console facilitates a graphical user interface (GUI) and web-based interface that we can use for managing our Google Cloud resources and projects. When we apply the cloud console, we select an existing project, or create a new one, and use various resources that we make for that project. We can make more than one project to apply projects for separating our work in any way.

For example, we may start any new project if we wish to ensure that only a few members of a team can access any resource in that specific project. Every member of the team can proceed to access any other project’s resource.

Why we need the Cloud Console?

We need a cloud console because it facilitates:

What is Cloud Console

  • Strong Web Admin UI
Get and manage visions into everything that provides powers to our cloud application such as developer services, networking, databases, datastore, virtual machines, data analysis, and web applications. Cloud Console supports us to diagnose, scale, and deploy production problems in a general web-based interface.
Cloud Console helps to detect resources and is also connected to various instances by SSH within the browser quickly. It manages the workflows of DevOps with powerful Android applications and native iOS. It can support us to master the complex tasks of development with Cloud Shell.
  • Quickly Manage and Find Resources
We can easily find our resources with a cloud console. We can also check the health of the resources that have complete management control over them. We can set the budget to manage how much we spend on resources.
  • More Protected Administrative Interface
In this, we can control various settings according to the enterprise, construct access management for our whole organization. We can also audit each configuration change and resource access, and set budgets of spending for controlling costs.
  • Go Through Data to Vision
Data novices and data scientists alike profit from the standard data storage, processing capabilities, and management of Cloud Console.
  • Allow Developer Productivity
Cloud console enhances developer productivity whether it’s a single-developer shop or a large group of developers. All the developers can deploy complicated systems securely, isolate problems in production quickly, and manage the whole system by Cloud Console.

Advantages of Cloud Console

The advantages of cloud console are listed below:

What is Cloud Console

  • Resource Management
Check and find our cloud resource quickly in a single place including data storage, network settings, and virtual machines.
  • Strong Data Management
Process, query, and store big and small data.
  • SSH in Browser
More securely and quickly connect to the instances of our virtual machine by SSH from the browser directly.
  • Activity Stream
Quickly understand each activity happening inside our cloud applications in a single place.
  • Mobile Apps
Manage the tasks of DevOps on the go using Android and native iOS Cloud Console mobile applications.
  • Cloud Shell
It is our admin machine within the cloud. It can handle power tasks quickly on the Linux box (instant-on) that is equipped with every tool including cloud SDK authenticated, preconfigured, and ready to proceed.
  • Admin
Audit and manage access of the co-workers to resources of the project.
  • Marketplace
Manage, launch, and explore solutions in some clicks including developer tools, CRM, CMS, blog, database, OS, infrastructure, and other solutions that are easy to launch.
